Computer Programmer / Analyst

We are seeking an energetic and self-driven individual to join us in developing software for the medical clinical trials industry. We currently have an opening for a Web Programmer. We will consider entry-level candidates but prefer someone with experience.

Candidates should have Java and web development experience; J2EE experience is a plus. Other desirable skills are C, C++, and Perl. This position will require the candidate to write program specifications and document procedures for testing, evaluating, and implementing new software. A solid understanding of object-oriented software engineering and relational database are mandatory. Familiarity with UNIX-based web development is a major plus.

Additional requirements include excellent verbal and written communication and a high degree of problem solving skills. BS or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field is required. Systems Programmer

Responsibilities include:

• Install, configure, performance-tune, monitor, troubleshoot, and support of web and application servers (JBoss and Sun Application Server 9.x/Glassfish), content management system (Alfresco), SunOne Directory Server (LDAP), an in-house web portal application
• Research, design, and implement solutions related to the above technologies
• Develop software applications following our software lifecycle process including gathering and writing program specifications

Candidate must have:

• At least 3 years experience in Web development and working with web, enterprise, and multi-tiered architectures
• A solid understanding of Java, J2EE, and Application/JVM Tuning
• excellent troubleshooting skills
• Programming experience in the Unix environment
• A solid understanding of Unix system administration concepts and practices
